“There is no doubt that increasing pollution levels across cities in India are taking a toll on everyone lives- young and old alike. Considering the health hazards, there’s been a growing demand for air purifiers, masks and respiratory solutions. But, the air filtration industry currently, which is still at a nascent stage, is struggling with challenges. In this year’s Budget, we’d like to see the Government take note of this serious problem and offer support in terms of tax incentives, grants and progressive policies that will help bring growth impetus to this industry. We would like to see some proactive attempts including bringing the GST from the present 18% to the lowest bracket on air filters and also a reduction in customs duties on Air Purifiers/ Air Filters to be used for lowering dust levels inside premises.”
